Most folks in society today suffer from some form of phobia. In other words, they have an apparently irrational fear of lots of things. One fear that is relatively unheard of is Erythrophobia, or the fear of excessive blushing. Erythrophobia is quite a common worry. Actually, it is much more common than you can imagine. Most folks in the world tend to blush as a consequence of many psychological and physical reasons. Generally, folks blush either as a consequence of a psychological sensitivity to the personal beliefs that others have of you or as a consequence of an hyper nervous system. Erythrophobia, or the fear of excessive blushing, begins as a consequence of a lack of confidence and is particularly widespread in folks who blush easily and who are liable to over-value other's assessment of oneself. Such folks become greatly distressed about the way they look when their face reddens, instead of the reason behind it in the first place. People who suffer from Erythrophobia or the fear of excessive blushing are dreadfully uncomfortable by the spontaneous reddening of their cheeks when they blush. They try to combat the colouring and totally stop it from happening. Just as how someone with excessive acne becomes dreadfully distressed about what he or she looks like, a person who issuffering from Erythrophobia becomes obsessed about the reddening of their cheeks. They become absolutely absorbed with trying not to blush. They get a completely groundless fear of excessive blushing. Unless you suffer from Erythrophobia, it may sound groundless to you. But, it makes total sense to those who have it. Erythrophobia affects all aspects of their career and personal life, over and above the interactions that they have with their relatives and associates. If a person who is suffering from Erythrophobia does not seek assistance in time, it can cause not only anxiety and depression, but other social phobias as well. It can also lead to thoughts of suicide. Unfortunately, no one can totally understand what the sufferer is going through unless they also have gone through the same problem. You can help a person get the better of his or her fear of excessive blushing by taking no notice of the blush when he or she blushes. In this way, the individual may become accustomed to it.
