The Epson 11880 Wide Format Printer: New Series Just Released.

As a result of the recent release of formidable 60" wide format inkjet printers from Canon and Hewlett-Packard, Epson has just introduced a 64" model, the Epson 11880 printer. The inkjet printer market has become so dramatically aggressive that Wide Format Printer Developers are introducing brand new printer technology more or less every couple of years. The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 is the first time Epson has just released a printer larger than theirvery successful 44" size, observed on the Epson 9800 Wide Format Printer, giclee printer, inkjet printer, and Epson Stylus Pro 10600. This is an enormous benefit to production-oriented facilities who prefer the superiority and evidence of the Epson logo, but greatly need the extra width. Given that Canon and HP printers are only 60" wide, the giclee printer gives an added four inches in width which could verify a deciding factor in costumer evaluation. The reasoning is that if one can choose among two reasonably comparable printers at the similar cost why not spend this large sum of money into a printer that provides greater capacity?

As most experts know, in reality that none of these wide format printers from Canon, HP, and Epson are comparable. Granted the principle reasoning and the market they supply is similar, but the technical makeup and potential of the printer vary quite dramatically. The Epson 11880 was specially developed to address a number of valid technological annulments when compared toearlier printer model releases. First, it makes both matte ink and photo black ink all in one, without needing to swap out Epson 11880 ink cartridges. Epson has been widely criticized no explanation. This will conserve the Epson 11880 printmaker thousands of dollars in ink substitution and wasted time. Next, the printing speed is drastically better. The professional 11880 inkjet is expected toboost the speedof the giclee printer, therefore making it a powerhouse within production environments. Given the high speed of the Canon and HP printers, the Epson 11880 will will invite the elevated level printing audiencewho, until now, were relatively forced to devote in non-Epson technology. The high volume market uses a lot of ink and purchases a significant amount of equipment each year. The advent of the Epson Stylus Pro 11880 should therefore unlock a developed opportunity for Epson. Epson is banking on features like these (but not limited to these) to push the Epson 11880 pass up the recent wide format printer releases from HP and Canon. The open market share and general adoration for the Epson brand due to its deliberate first-mover pro, most wait for the professional 11880 inkjet to lead the 60" printer segment.

One common topic amongst wide format printmakers is of the potential reaction to Epson for the fast new release of new technology over such a short moment in time. Epson's market mainly consists of entrepreneurs who cant carry on with the high price of printers bi-annually, and they just cant keep up. The result of such an approach is a market swamped with old outdated Epson printers such as the giclee printer, and the inkjet printer, printers, and a lotof entrepreneurs wondering how they are going to keep up with and differentiate themselves. Although this may generate some poor publicity for Epson, in such a spirited arena does Epson really have a choice?
