Online CPR Certificate - First Step To Saving Lives!

Many people have recognized the value of obtaining the online CPR certificate. Once only required for the health industry, it is now a prerequisite for a growing number of employment positions. Taking the time to sit for the online CPR certificate not only enhances job prospects, but it guarantees that you will be a very valuable member of any workforce.

Many people are finding that they are required to present a copy of their CPR certificate for employment as a professional rescuer, athletic trainer, airline employee, and of course for safety personnel, police and the emergency response teams. Being able to obtain this certificate online has become an invaluable resource to these industries.

The online procedure of either sitting for the CPR certificate for the first time, or going through the process of recertification has been made so much easier with the various online courses that are offered. Many factors come into play which has contributed to its success, such as time, convenience, and the costs of travel. Quite often the nearest course may be held miles away which makes for one awful lot of inconvenience.

Many people who are required to obtain their first aid certificate will find that their course often includes a class on CPR. This is true of both actual and online courses. These blended online CPR courses will include 20% of the training spent in the classroom. This time is spent with instructors who demonstrate the techniques learned.

It is probably worth a mention that many of the online CPR certificates may not be worth the paper they are printed on. This requires some due diligence on your behalf to make sure that the educating body is either recommended to you, or they are either nationally recognized or approved by the US federal government.

One has to be careful when enrolling in an online CPR certificate program that they are not being swayed in their decision by lots of hype. One of the great drawcards is being able to sit for the certificate and once the test is passed to be able to print it from your own printer. This is all well and good providing that the certificate is one that is recognized nationally. It is embarrassing to say the least to be told that your CPR certificate is absolutely worthless.

Online CPR certificates must meet the correct standard or they will be worthless. There are many courses that meet these guidelines, such as the American Heart Association and the Red Cross. The certificate to be of any value must be recognized by national and government agencies as well as schools and hospitals. Accredited courses will also offer free retakes of the test should you fail the first time.

You can expect to pay around $20 to obtain an online CPR certificate. Some charges are up as high as $25 - $30, but you do not necessarily receive any better training. Employers and schools who wish to organize group bookings should be able to negotiate a lower price for their employees or students.
