Excessive blushing isn't an uncomplicated problem, meaning there isn't merely one undemanding remedy. To overcome Erythrophobia, there are various issues you should focus on. There is one thing that will have the most influence on your success and I'll pass it on to you now. While trying to resolve a secondary problem linked to the fear of excessive blushing, I inadvertently unearthed how to overcome the problem of excessive blushing, viz. 'stop resisting'-when something crops up, you have to permit it to take place and permit yourself to undergo it without combating the feelings. Mostly, when we get an unwelcome emotion or an emotion which doesn't seem right to us, we tend reason with ourselves, attempting to convince ourselves that we must not feel one way or the other. But, the more you endeavour to compel yourself to change or calm down, the harder it becomes to do this. Resisting such feelings becomes much more challenging as the unconstructive thoughts increase in intensity, rather than reducing. If you have read the work of Carl Jung, a prominent thinker, Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, you may remember him saying 'what you resist persists'. This is very true. If you defy a feeling or emotion in your mind and oppose it, it merely becomes stronger and intensified. If you blush and strive to combat it, you go more red in the face and more often. If you are all the time anxious about going red in the face and trying to mentally tell yourself not to, you are merely making yourself more sensitive to the problem. The more you lose your nerve about it, the worse it'll become. This is how folks quickly change from easy blushing to excessive, acute blushing. Until you find out how to stop opposing your blushing, you're not going to stop blushing excessively. This is the most important part of the remedy although there are other things you need to do. The most important thing is not to undervalue the letting go of resistance. If you have battled with blushing for years, this isn't going to be easy to do. It's easy to think, 'right, stop fighting against it and I'll no longer blush again', however it can take months or years to get out of the blushing cycle. Being aware of how fighting against it can go against you is step one. When you appreciate that, you are well on your way to beating your excessive blushing.
