I Want to Quit Smoking

All I needed was to have the right info in my hands when I quit smoking. Each and every time I mustered up enough mental energy, I would attempt it again. It was a learning adventure each time I failed in my attempts to quit but, I learned what not to do the next time. If you fail in quitting smoking, you can at least slow down on the cigarettes you are having. When you stop smoking it will be one of the best things you can do for yourself hands down. Call your health insurance company and ask for some help, they will help, LOL. Know what you are going to do when you get that craving for a smoke. It is not that hard to stop smoking once you put your mind to it.

The last time I quit smoking I did join one of those support groups for quit smoking tip. It was pure torture to fight the craving to smoke, so I needed the help. I was hoping this was going to be the last time I smoked. A overwhelming ride of feelings in the mind to put that cigarette in my mouth. Advice from the smoking support group helped a great deal. No secrets in stopping smoking at all, just focus is all you need. Remember your mind will come up with reasons to smoke, don't be fooled into it.

Make sure you have equipped yourself with the knowledge you need on the smoke and how it affects you. Modify your behavior; hanging out with your former smokers will just pull your trigger to start smoking again. Tobacco is a drug of dependence, treat it as such. Confront the situation of wanting to smoke a cigarette and be prepared to stop yourself, easy quit smoking tip.

A fantasy to me was to quit cold turkey and a fantasy indeed smoking two packs a day. To quit cold turkey to some is one of the best known methods to quit smoking and the oldest one also. Cold turkey means to quit smoking without any planning or forethought or plan without any stop smoking aids.

The use of products to quit smoking is useful. Cravings from withdraw of the nicotine would be eased. A nicotine patch or gum would be helpful in plans of not smoking. If you end up having a few cigarette after you quit just start once again. Don't cry over a few more cigarettes; refocus your efforts on ways to stop smoking.

I worked up to stopping smoking thur making a promise to myself to do so. Telling my self I would be uncomfortable for a few days at first. Your friends and family can help in keeping you on track with your will power. Also, remember that most smokers fail a few times before the successfull quit.

Some smoking aids do contain nicotine; other products are coming on the market all the time that do not contain nicotine. Doctors may use drugs like bupropion, chantix and fluoxetine. Chantix is pfizer's drug, fluoxetine may be for depression in smokers and there is nicotine free bupropion. Doctors will use what works best.

When your body is kicking the nicotine it will give quit smoking side effects "withdraw symptoms" like a mild cold or irritability and fatigue. These symptoms will be the strongest in the first 48 hours and in the first week and ease up in the second week. Remember it is temporary and will go away. If you understand this it will be easy to know what going on in your body and when it will go away.

If you where not buying cigarettes for a year think about how much money that would be, is that enough of an incentive for you? Buy yourself something special after that. You will be one of the non smokers with negative attitude at the smokers outside. No more standing 15 feet away from the entrance to the building. Bring on the anti-smoking laws and more taxes on cigarettes; I don't have to pay anymore.
