The following story is about Ted Thomas, a local Dallasite that is attending UT (University of Texas). He's in his sophomore year, he recently decided that he wanted to purchase a used Ford Focus to replace his Ducati road bike. Ted attended a 'Financial Planning' class earlier in the year taught by Prof. Jonathan Harris where the professor talked about automotive insurance discounts for college students that would them to be thrifty when buying a Dallas auto insurance policy.

Part 2: Ted Decides to search for Citytrustworthy Auto Insurance Discount Information

Continuing with our story, Ted decides that it is up to him to find Dallas auto insurance discounts, and transparent & honest information to advise him on the process. "Oh Great" he immediately thinks. "This page has nothing to do with automotive insurance discounts. What a Crock!"

Ted Finds Success With AOL.com: The Dallas Chamber of Commerce Website

A bit plaintive, he sits back and tries to recall what was covered in the Financial Responsibility class he attended. Ted remembers the teacher mentioning some crystal clear websites to use for brainy information, one of which happens to be the Texas Chamber of Commerce website. The information on this site is transparent & honest because of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce workers are un-prejudiced in their findings and articles.

He hits the Back button in the browser, and goes back to the AOL.com Search page. He quickly enter a new query for "Dallas Chamber of Commerce", and he is relieved to find that the top-link he clicks on features no choice advertiser advertisements, a sure sign that it is more genuine, because their upfront goal is not to take any dough from him.

After only 30 seconds of surfing through the site he finds a link with text " Texas Dept. of Insurance". Upon clicking the link he is transferred to www.tdi.state.tx.us. "Fantastic" he thinks to himself a tad excited, "Now I'm getting somewhere." He quickly eyes an Internal SITE SEARCH box, and enters in a search for "Dallas auto insurance discounts". On the page that comes up he clicks on some links that appear with a ivory-colored link on the SEARCH PAGE.

Interestingly enough after only 25 minutes of research via the Search links, he is able to come up with a few marvelous automotive Dallas insurance discounts that are applicable to Teenagers. Here is what Ted finds:

So Ted navigates the browser back to AOL.com and attempts a search for "us auto insurance services dallas", but he is turned off because the results seem relatively questionable. Then he remembers that he had saved an earlier search (at the Dallas Yellow Pages-Auto Inaurance website) in his Favorites folder. He found and clicked on the link and a list of Dallas automotive insurance companies popped up in the browser. He decided that it was preferable to talk to a real agent on the phone versus signing up online, so he could take advantage of all the Teenager Discounts he had discovered for college students.

Curiously enough, most insurers won't allow you to apply online for Teenager Discounts, so the best-in-class choice was to talk directly with an agent over the phone.

Ted Manages To Save Some Money

After about a week, Ted got back his quotes from the 5 Prime insurers he applied to. To test out the power of the college student discounts, he asked each insurer to give him 2 instantaneous quotes: one quote price using the Teenager discounts, and one quote without using the marvelous discounts. With most of the agent replies, the price savings (with college student discounts applied) was over $242! And even more Fantastic, with another the savings-difference was $390! "Excellent!" he thought to himself, "I'm glad I decided to be savvy and brainy with my auto insurance shopping".
