Chicago is one of those memorable cities in North America that you never forget visiting. Chicago has many attractions you shouldn't miss. One example is the Art Institute of Chicago. You can get lost for hours looking at art and sculpture from the last 5000 years. The Art Institute hosts a huge collection of postimpressionist and impressionist paintings. Make sure you have your picture taken by the local landmark lions outside museum. After a morning of sightseeing you might want to pay a visit to the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. This neighborhood is alive both day and night as people walk, run, cycle, rollerblade, and stroll along the busy streets. Lincoln Park is well known for the Biograph Theater, since this is where the FBI shot John Dillinger in 1934. Other attractions in this neighborhood include the Lincoln Zoo, which is free to the public. Visit with the gorillas and chimpanzees before checking out the more uncommon animals, such as the Galapagos turtle and poisonous spiders from around the world. A big hit at this zoo is when the chimpanzees come out to draw for you. Some of the art created by the chimpanzees has been sold around the world. Of course, a visit to Chicago isn't complete without a walk along the Magnificent Mile, the avenue that leads from Lincoln Park to the Chicago River. This stretch of road is famous with shopping enthusiasts who search for either bargain or a boutique. The Tribune Tower stands along the Magnificent Mile and deserves some inspection. The tower, built in 1925, is known for its gothic beauty which is still astounding even today. The base of the Tribune is studded with rocks brought back by newspaper reporters from around the world. If you're visiting Chicago with your children you won't want to miss a visit to the Shedd Aquarium. Built in 1929, you'll find one of the world's largest collections of marine and aquatic animals here. The huge central tank in the building houses over 500 tropical fish that include the moray eel as well as the quiet nurse shark. You'll also be able to view the sea otters, penguins, dolphins, beluga whales, and harbor seals. If you are in America can baseball be far behind. Chicago has to its name one of the most popular baseball fields of the century, the Wrigley field. Any baseball fan would have heard of it and would definitely want a picture of it. A walk around the field is an experience to cherish. No matter what time of the year that you visit Chicago you'll always be able to find something to do. The winter months can be a bit cold and snowy but that's what gives Chicago its charm and reputation.
