Characteristics of a Perfect Student

Achievements of perfect students do not relate to academics alone. These students are good human beings too and rank well in extracurricular activities.

They perform well in any given test. These students are faster in their writing for they are smarter. They are independent and make the least mistakes.

Perfect students are liked by all. However, no student is born with these qualities. These are attributes that can be developed.

A few tips are given below to help aspiring students become popularly perfect:

Advice for College Students

School life and college life are different. Yet, it has often been witnessed that perfect students at school level make excellent college students too.

Development of the Right Attitude

A primary requisite is development of communication skills. Establishing a good working relationship with the other students and members of the faculty is important at college level.

Professors might criticise. Students should be able to distinguish between positive and destructive criticism. Positive criticism induces self-improvement and should be gladly accepted. Negative criticism is best met by non-reaction; for criticism of this sort reduces efficiency levels.

Mastery over the Subject

There is a vast difference in the approach that has to be adopted during the school and college level. School children concentrate on learning new subjects. While college students strive to gain mastery over the subject. This is a difficult task for the subject matter is voluminous.

Adoption of different study techniques makes learning easy.

  • The prospect of working hard endlessly frightens all students. Dividing the work into small segments, taking short breaks after completing each topic promotes relaxation.

  • Students tend to set strict and unrealistic deadlines. Failure to meet these fills them up with disappointment. Maintaining a diary and recording the positive feedback of the day's achievement help in staying motivated.

Interest in Extracurricular Activities

Majority of the students find it difficult to remain motivated during the middle years of their college tenure. The monotony of the daily grind induces boredom. Boredom and anxiety for the future are but natural feelings which many students experience. Unfortunately, such feelings impact academic performance.

Students can remain motivated by:

  • Participating in extracurricular activities

  • Finding a perfect balance between study and play hours. Continuous work saps energy levels. Students can easily create a balance by dividing their time in the manner they feel appropriate. However, 80 - 90% of work and 10 - 20% of play time is never recommended.

Financial Help

Most of the students studying in the UK get financial help for their college education. Finance should not be a matter of concern. It should not prevent students in the pursuit of higher education. University education always leads to a higher earning capacity.

Student loans are available that cover the living costs. These loans are offered on non-commercial rates of interest. Financial help is also available for disabled students or teen moms.

Qualities and Characteristics to be Mentioned in a Personal Statement for a UK University

Personal Statement holds vital importance, especially in Universities where interviews are not conducted. Admission authorities try to gauge the character of the student through the written matter.

The interest of the student in the chosen line of study is assessed. Certain events in life might have oriented the student to choose that particular subject. These events should find a brief but lucid mention in the personal statement. However, students must be honest. Admission officials through the sheer experience gained by the reading of thousands of personal statements can easily identify dishonest, fabricated articles.

Passion for the subject, motivation to work hard and honesty are the three qualities that admission officials in the UK seek in personal statements.

Perfect students are successful in their intellectual quest and off-classroom activities too. They have a good personality and are popular. Such qualities can be developed, and any student can become a perfect student. Once such positive qualities get ingrained in the personality of a student they easily reach out to higher levels of achievements.
