The use of aircrafts as a mean of travel has been on rise for the last few years. It is the quickest way to reach another destination and so a lot of time saved from the journey. However the growing terrorist activity and ignorance of passengers sometime became dangerous for many lives. It is necessary to know about the safety measures before traveling in air.

a. If you are going for an air travel, choose non stop routings. Accidents mostly happen during takeoff, climb, descent or in landing phase and hence non stop flight would reduce such accident prone phases.

b. Be attentive to preflight briefing. Though these information’s are repetitive these are necessary and you might miss on something if your seat is near the emergency exits.

c. Always choose for larger aircrafts which are designed and certified according to strictest regulations. These aircrafts also provides better opportunity of survival in the unlikely event of a serious accident.

d. Do not place heavy articles in the overhead storage bin. These bins may not be able to hold back heavy objects during turbulence. Better store heavy articles somewhere else. Valuable items like money, laptop computers, passports and visas should be kept with you. Report immediately if you lost your luggage.

e. While on board fasten your seat belt that gives you an extra protection when the plane hits an unexpected turbulence.

g. Do not drink much inside the aircraft as the atmosphere there is pressurized according to altitude and hence will affect more on your health. You may drink in moderate.

h. Always follow the instructions of the cabin crew during emergency.

i. Do not take any prohibited items inside the aircraft. Items such as knives, guns and ammunition including toys and replicas, explosives etc. are not allowed in air crafts and if found you could be punished accordingly to the existing law. Apart from them there a re some common household items which are also prohibited to take on the board. You have to go through screening before entering into the aircraft and it is better to check the listing of items which are prohibited inside. Always cooperate with the air staff’s for security reasons. If you have some prohibited items with you hand it over to the security.

j. Keep information’s regarding the fly time of your aircraft and match it with the authority.
