The days of the red hot sellers’ market are over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sell your home. You just need to take advantage of unique opportunities and here is one way to do it. It is important to remember that once you decide to sell a home, it becomes a product. Just like a store selling clothing, you must treat it as a product. The best example in this case is, believe it or not, a shopping mall. Yes, a mall! This store placement strategy is all about something known as traffic. You and I are the traffic. We might be driving by on a busy road or we might be walking around in a mall. The point is we are going to see that store continually and may go in to buy something. The same concept can be translated to real estate. More importantly, it can help you sell your home. A swap meet is a good place to sell a product because a large group of people attend it. This increases the potential number of prospective customers for the business. As we roll into spring, the days are getting longer and warming up. While people talk about national trends in real estate with little accuracy, there is one trend that works each and every year. As spring comes on, the real estate market heats up. Spring is considered a time of renewal. Put in more practical terms, it is finally a time when you can get out of the house and stretch those legs. Entire communities come alive. They often hold weekend events, and this can be your goldmine. Practically every community has an event of some sort every month or so when it is warm. Well, this event means people will be congregating in your area. More importantly, they will be walking around, even if it is just from their parking spot. The walk from the car to the event is when you want to nab them. Make sure you have a for sale sign on your lawn with brochures. Put it next to the sidewalk. Heck, stand their and hand the brochures out. Make sure to hold an open house all day as well. This may sound embarrassing or dubious, but it works. I guarantee you will get more interest in your home during the one or two day event than from all your other marketing efforts. The more buyers that look at your home, the sooner it will be sold.
